Mortastic Four

Trigon is the father of Raven of the Teen Titans and an otherworldly demon with plans of interdimensional conquest. So, yeah, usual stuff. He fought the Titans early in their series, and the good guys just barely eeked a victory. He returns later in their run with one of my favorite story arcs of all time, which of course I would be happy to let you borrow. For the last twenty or so years, however, he has only appeared as a reanimated bag of bones and in a couple of episodes of the epilepsy-inducing Teen Titans Cartoon. How can a good character stay dead for so long?

Okay, I've got a special four for one. Who are these Bat Enemies?

I'm guess on two, pretty sure on the others. Two-Face, a Lava man, Gentlemen Ghost, and the original Killer Moth?

Phylemon, are you bummed that Geoff Johns is leaving Teen Titans?

I'm not as bummed about losing Johns as I am about losing the artist Tony Daniels. His work was always spectacular. The replacement artist better be equal to the task, which won't be easy.

I am worried about Johns replacement, as I've read some of his work on Robin and it was always just average.

Can you live with less than spectacular art if you always get the book on time each month, or do you want fantastic art but only get 9 or 10 issues a year?

It kind of depends on what you mean by "less than spectacular". Titans is a series that needs something more realistic than the usual manga-inspired artists. There is an emphasis on detail that comes in the wake of having George Perez as an artist on it for however many years. I could deal with 9-10 issues a year of quality art, although 12 issues of something with a little detail is better. I would not, however, take 25 issues a year of something that resembles the Teen Titans Cartoon or was written by someone named Liefield. What about the artists on 52? I know that they aren't "big names", but I've never been distracted by how poor the art was, and the Titans have appeared in that series on a couple of occasions.

There were some not perfect art moments in 52. Some issues have been better than others. But I'll take it because the book has always been on time. And when they need an extra pair of hands to keep it on time, they went and got someone who was similar enough to blend in. I wish publishers were more willing to do that. If they could find a way to do it with writers too, that would be great. I just like my monthly comics to be monthly. What happened to Wonder Woman & Superman/Batman for example is really annoying to me. And what they do with Ultimates is pathetic.
