Mort Reborn!

Magdalena, a character that appears from time to time in various top cow publications, is a descendant of Mary Magdalene, which apparently gives her the power to "see into the hearts of men, to show them the error of their ways and to redeem their sins." Huh, thought that was Jesus' job. Anyway, she carries the spear of destiny, the spear that pierced the side of Christ, with which she can hurt bad people. She works for the upper echelon of the Catholic Church, a group of cardinals called the Inquisition. Again, huh, I thought the Catholic Church would want to distance thenselves from that little moment in history. Anyway, Magdalena has become fairly popular for an indy character and will therefore reportedly have a movie coming out in 2008.

Okay, you've seen this mort before, but in a different form. Good luck!

HailMortys

Elsa Bloodstone is one of a number of C-List Marvel characters appearing in the current Nextwave series, penned by Warren Ellis. She is a Monster Hunter (more Van Helsing than Buffy, though) who is following in her father's footsteps of killing off the evil that populates horror movies. Her powers come from the gem in her choker, which was a gift from her father. With it, she is seemingly immortal, has Super Strength, and is immune to all the bad things vampires can do. And she's British!

I'm quite confident that the latest Mort might cause some controversy, which I'm not necessarily going to try to avoid. Once you've made a guess, then you can criticize what she is wearing.

God save the Mort!

The American Dream is Shannon Carter, an Olympic level athlete of an alternative universe who was inspired by Captain America and tries to follow his legacy. Despite was Regan says, she currently appears in the Avengers Next comic, which I pick up every week that it is out regardless of whether it is sold to anyone else.

It is my hope that by including more Marvel based Morts that the Marvel Zombies like Eric and Joanna may come over more to play. So, here is another one. And, she's British!
