I could of had a V-Mort

The picture above is not the next Mort (although it would be a fun game to see how many of these characters you can name). This is a promo picture from the next weekly comic from DC called Countdown. I'm not sure what it is, but I really love gigantic group shots that you can look at for hours trying to figure out who they are.

Last week's Mort (which Joanna was very nice not to spoil for everyone) is indeed Hellion, a member of the New Mutants. His real name is Julian Keller and he is a powerful telekinetic. The New X-Men is a pretty good read, by the way, although it has been a rough year for the team. You might want to pick up an issue now before there are no more members still alive.
Alright, here is the new Mort. Honestly, not a difficult one, so I expect a little detail on this one.

Bullet Proof Mort

You were so close this last round! Our mort is indeed the girl that appeared in the House of M series who could remember life before Scarlet Witch did her thing. Post M-Day, she appears in the current X-Factor series, which is really quite good if you haven't given it a chance. Her gimmick nowadays is that she, "knows stuff" and is therefore able to help the team out. Her help usually takes the form of a Rube Goldberg-esque series of events that she sets in motion. For example, she might be seen casually tossing a wrench into the trash can. Later, another character won't be able to fix the leaky sink because of the missing wrench. Finally, an assassin will break in and attempt to kill a character, but will slip in a puddle formed by the leaky sink and be caught. So she is the behind the scenes difference maker.

Okay, new Mort is up, and Joanna could answer this one in her sleep. How about you?

Do you "know stuff" about this Mort?

You were all right on the money last time. Squirrel Girl is a member of what was once known as the Great Lakes Avengers, and then GLX (they found out they were all mutants), and finally the Great Lakes Champions. She has heightened reflexes, a prehensile tail, and can communicate with squirrels. To answer Randy's question, it does not appear that the last power is like Wonder Woman's, but rather that she has learned the language of the squirrel. She has the mutant power to talk to squirrels in much the same way I have the mutant power to communicate with Germans.

Okay, yet another mutant this time around, in a faint hope that Joanna or even Eric will happily play along.

Nutty Mort

Molly Hayes is, indeed one of the members of the Runaways (I'm so glad someone got my lame title hint), a surprisingly good read from Marvel. She is the youngest of the kids and has super strength and near invulnerabilty. Her major weakness is that after she uses her power she becomes very sleepy and must rest. The Runaways are not real keen on using super hero code names, but Molly has suggested that her name would be "Princess Powerful". Most of her teammates, however, call her "Bruiser".
Alright, the new mort is up, and it is another good one from Marvel. She's even a mutant, so Joanna can feel free to play.

Run Away! It's a Mort!

The Mortastic Four from last post are as follows (from left to right):

Two Face: Former Gotham City DA Harvey Dent was burned by acid and became a nut who had dual-themed crimes.

Killer Moth: Cameron Van Cleer was a millionaire who became the "anti-Batman" with a Mothmobile, etc. He is notable as the first villian Batgirl fought.

Clayface II- Matt Hagen was one of a bunch of Bat villians who became made of clay and could reshape their bodies in any way they saw fit.

Gentleman Ghost- Jim Craddock is a mysterious villian with ghost like abilities. The running gag for the longest time was the heroes trying to determine if he was a super human pretending to be a ghost, or if he was an actual ghost eho for some reason felt the need to rob banks. Recent issues of JSA have apparently proven that the latter is the case.

Okay, new Mort is up. She is from the Marvel universe this time.
