Project Super Powers

This is one of the many reasons I love Comic Books. It isn't Marvel, so EDMC is probably out, but look at this trailer and tell me your inner nerd doesn't want you to buy this. (I had to shrink this trailer, but you can see it full size here).

By the way, everybody is right about Nocturne. She is the daughter of other worldy versions of Nightcrawler and Scarlet Witch. According to Wikipedia, she can possess others, project hex bolts, telepathically communicate with others, and is superhumanly agile. She is a member of the Exiles team, which isn't a bad read.

Good Night, Mort

As Randy correctly identified, Tyroc was the member of the Legion of Super Heroes with Sonic Powers. His origin is at least a little interesting, as he is one of the descendents of a group of slaves who escaped a slave ships as it was making the middle passage and settled on a remote island that moved in and out of dimensions every 200 years. My favorite part of Tyroc, as evidenced by his wikipedia page, is that different screams caused different things to happen:

Among the screams in Tyroc's arsenal:
EEYYAAAHH! - pyrokinesis
AHHRRRRRR! - force field
OYYUUUUUU! - teleportation
ARRRRHHHH! - explosions
ZZZRRRUUGGHH! - telekinesis
UIUUIEEEE! - transmutation
ARRREEEEG! - weather manipulation
IRRRRWWWW! - chlorokinesis
CCCIIIRRR! - vertigo
RRRYYYY! - wind manipulation

That is classic, silver-agey goodness.

Okay, the new mort is a gimmee to EDMC, but let's see if any of the rest of you know it.

Mort from (future) Motown

The Hate-Monger was an occasional enemy of the Fantastic Four and other Marvel super heroes who utilized his "hate-ray" to turn heroes against one another. After his first defeat, Hate Monger was unmasked and revealed to be Adolf Hitler, who had in actuality survived World War II. Arnim Zola, one of Hitler's chief scientists in the Marvel universe, once created a machine to allow Hitler to transfer his consciousness into new bodies, thus granting the German dictator immortality in a sense, but the machine was subsequently destroyed, and das fuhrer is apparently gone for good.
I decided to jump over to the DC side of things for this week's mort. Despite the picture, he is actually one of the future's great heroes. Who is he?
